We, the family of the late Owen, would like to offer our sincere appreciation to all those who sympathised with us on our recent bereavement.
Thank you to our family and friends who called to the house and sent messages of condolence.
Thank you to Fr. James who celebrated Owen’s mass at home in Newry and to Deacon Tim for the lovely service in Brisbane. Our thanks to Cliodhna Cowan and Terry Rafferty for the lovely music at the mass.
A word of thanks to Centred Soul and The Shelbourne for their hospitality and to Eileen and Ann in the parish office for their support.
Our appreciation to Holy Cross undertakers in Brisbane who took care of the funeral arrangements and a huge thank you to Colin Bell, KBRT for his advice and support to the family at a very difficult time.
Owen’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 22nd February at 10.30am in Newry Cathedral.
Sadly missed and remembered with much love by his beloved wife Eve, his children Joshua and Lee, stepchildren Alicia and Ryan, his dear mother Bridie, his sister Aine and his many friends.

May he rest in peace.

KENNEDY Owen, formerly of Newry. Owen passed away suddenly in Brisbane, Australia on 7th January 2025.

Beloved husband of Eve, loving father of Joshua and Lee, stepfather to Alicia and Ryan, son of Bridie and the late Paddy Kennedy and brother of Aine.

Mass to pray for the peaceful repose of Owen’s soul will be offered on Saturday morning (18th January 2025) at 10.30am in St. Patrick and St. Colman’s cathedral, Newry.

Owen will be deeply missed by his entire family circle and friends.

Book of Condolences

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to Owen’s family, friends, and colleagues. Like all of you, I was deeply shocked by the suddenness of his passing, and I can only imagine the pain his loss has caused. Over the years, I had the privilege of meeting with Owen multiple times while visiting Brisbane from Canada as a vendor’s representative for the City Council. Owen was an exceptional professional, but it is as an outstanding human being that I will remember him most. He was always respectful, thoughtful, kind and humble.
