Maurice KING, MVB MRCVS
We the King family, Anne, Colin, Cahir and Maurice, wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks to all those who sympathised and supported us during the recent death and devastating loss of our much loved husband, father and grandfather Maurice.
The family wish to thank Fr. Paul Alexander and Fr. John McManus for their spiritual role during this time. We express our gratitude to Fr. Paul Alexander for celebrating Requiem Mass, for his very moving homily and for the graveside prayers and words of comfort at the funeral.
We would also like to thank Dolores Kearney and Adrian Magee for their contribution to the Mass.
Thank you to all our family, friends and neighbours for the practical help and support given during our time of grief.
We thank those who offered their condolences with floral bouquets, Mass and sympathy cards, verbally and online via social media and also for the newspaper tributes to Maurice.
The family thank Dr. Jayne Creaney and the staff of Stream Street Surgery and also the staff of Downe Hospital. We are very grateful to the Downpatrick District Nurses, the care workers of Lydian care and Marie Curie for their professional and dedicated care.
We express our gratitude to all those who travelled long distances to attend the funeral and to the many people who lined the route and gathered at the chapel and cemetery to pay their respects.
Grateful thanks to Charles Rourke & Sons Funeral Directors and to Mr. Thomas Edgar for preparing the grave.
Thanks to the staff and clients of Downe Veterinary Clinic and the wider community for sharing our burden during this trying period.
Finally, Thank you to those who donated generously in lieu of flowers to Marie Curie.

I have known Maurice all my professional life, in fact we were at the Vet College in Ballsbridge at the same time , Maurice in UCD and me in Trinity. We met often at veterinary meetings and nurtured a long friendship and often shared experiences of the rigors of mixed practice. My wife Susie looked forward to seeing him in the practice when she was doing her rounds. We will miss him. Our sincerest condolences to you all and our thoughts are with at this time.
