OWENS (Belfast and Australia) Malachy Paul September 8, 2020, died peacefully in Greenwich Palliative Care Unit, Sydney after a long illness, endured with great courage and dignity. Son of the late Sean and Rita Owens. Deeply regretted by his brothers and sisters, Maurice, Mary, Rita (Higgins), Michael John, Kevin, Dermot and Therese (Ross) and brothers and sisters-in-law Bridget, Laurie, Clair, Geraldine, Karenand Dave, also regretted by Malachy’s many nieces, nephews and friends.

We wish to acknowledge and thank his many friends in Ireland and Sydney who kept in contact with Malachy during his illness and for their kindness and prayers particularly in the past few months. ‘May the joy that he brought to the world and the light that he shone in it live forever’.

Rest peacefully, Malachy, in the arms of Jesus and his Mother Mary. We are forever grateful to the medical teams at Royal North Shore Hospital and Greenwich PCU in Sydney for the outstanding love and care they gave our brother Malachy.

A Mass to celebrate Malachy’s life will be arranged at a later date.
