Begoña and the entire family circle of the late Maria R.I.P. wish to express their sincere gratitude to all who sympathized with them during their recent bereavement.
They extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful and dedicated carers and the staff of Ward AAA and A5 at Antrim Area Hospital for their kindness, care, and attention to Maria Paz, as well as their support to the family, for which they are forever grateful. Special thanks also go to Portglenone Medical Centre and the staff of Bellaghy Pharmacy.
Maria Paz’s family would also like to thank Fr. O’Hagan P.P. for his spiritual support, guidance, pastoral care and for celebrating the Requiem Mass, as well as for the beautiful tribute he gave in his homily.
The family also extends their gratitude to the Gribbin Girls for the beautiful music, the church sacristan, church volunteers, Breige and everyone at the Open Door Complex for providing refreshments after the funeral. Appreciation is given to John O’Neill and Gavin for preparing the grave.
They are especially grateful to the kind relatives, friends, neighbours, staff and pupils at St. Mary’s Grammar School, and members of the wider community who offered help during this challenging time. Thanks go to all who sent messages, cards, and flowers, as well as those who gathered along the route to the Church and attended the funeral, and those who followed it on the webcam.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Gregory and the team at McKiernan & Sons Funeral Directors for their professional, compassionate, and dedicated guidance throughout all aspects of the funeral arrangements, providing immense support during this challenging time.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for everyone’s intentions.
The Month’s Mind Mass for Maria Paz will be celebrated on Friday 8th November 2024 at 7pm in St. Mary’s Church, Bellaghy.

MATEO Maria Paz (Bellaghy & formerly Spain) Died 15th October 2024. Peacefully at hospital Maria R.I.P. loving mother of Begona (Loughlin); dear mother-in-law of Paul and adored Granny of Pablo and Maixa. Daughter of the late Angel and Benita and sister of Viole and the late Luis and Angel.

N.B. Maria’s wake will commence on Thursday 17th October 2024 at 4pm.

Funeral from her daughter’s residence, 8 Downings Road, on Saturday at 10:20am for 11 o’clock Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Bellaghy. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. St. Teresa of Avila pray for her. “Descansa en Paz”
