MATTHEWS James (Stan) – (Newry) April 2, 2023, (peacefully) at Daisy Hill Hospital, formerly of Barcroft Park and Boston, USA.

James (Stan), dearly beloved husband of the late Caít McDonagh (Connemara, Co. Galway), much loved son of Mary and the late Frank and cherished brother of Martin, Pat, Anne, Majella, Patricia and Mary. May he Rest In Peace.

Stan’s remains will repose at his sister Mary’s residence, 16 Ballinare Court on Monday and Tuesday from 2pm – 9pm. Funeral on Wednesday at 12 noon for 12.30pm Requiem Mass in St Catherine’s Church, Dominic Street followed by private cremation in Dardistown Crematorium. House strictly private morning of the funeral.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken mother, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law Katherine and Theresa, brothers-in-law Derek McLoughlin, Liam McGarry and Gerard McKevitt, nephews, nieces and the entire family circle. “Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.”
