Acknowledgement from the family of the late Gerald McAvoy (RIP)
We the family of the late Gerald McAvoy would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest and most heartfelt appreciation to all of you who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement. We greatly valued each and every one who took the time to attend the wake, send Mass cards, sympathy cards, phone calls, messages, and donations to the Southern Area Hospice.
To all those who surrounded us with their kindness, care and support as Gerald’s funeral cortege travelled to the St Patrick’s Church Banbridge and those who gathered at the Church and the grave-side we extend to you our gratitude and thanks.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and health professionals in Craigavon Area Hospital for their compassion and empathy during Dad’s final days.
To Fr McMahon and soloist Kayla Lennon who reflected Dad’s life in a beautiful mass.
Finally, thank you to Heaney Keenan Funeral Directors for their compassion and professionalism with which they carried out Dad’s funeral.
It is impossible for us to personally thank everyone, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our family’s sincere thanks and appreciation. May he Rest In Peace with Brenda his beloved wife sisters Irene and Anne and brothers Arthur and Tony.
We extend our warmest welcome to you to join us at dads/Geralds’ months mind mass to be held in St Therese Church, Banbridge on Saturday 1st February at 5.30PM.

McAVOY Gerald (Banbridge) December 28th, 2024. Peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Gerald, dearly beloved husband of the late Brenda, cherished father of Donna and Lisa, father-in-law of Oisin, devoted grandfather of Cara, Jamie, Zak and Torin and much loved brother of Susan, Kathleen, Mary, Vera, Martin, Kieran, and the late Arthur, Tony, Irene and Anne. May he Rest In Peace.
Gerald’s remains will repose at his late residence, 10 Mountview Park on Monday from 1pm – 9pm. Funeral on Tuesday at 10.45am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Dromore Street. Burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and the entire family circle.
