McBRIDE, Ernest (Ernie) – 20th March 2025.

Peacefully, aged 94 years, at Nicholson House Nursing Home. Formerly of Greenwood, Lisburn.

Adoring husband of 71 years to the late Patsy McBride. Loving and proud dad to Johanna, Renee and Ruby, father-in-law to Ian, Gerry and Gerald. Proud granda and great-granda. One of five siblings, Billy, Harold, Ernie, Renee and John. Survived by Renee and John. NI District Secretary for the TG&W Union, a true Trade Unionist & Socialist. Harbour Commissioner. Silverwood Golf Club President 1996-1998 and Captain 2006.

A service to celebrate and give thanks for Ernie’s life will be held in Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium, Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, BT36 5BU on Thursday 27th March at 12.00 Noon.
