FAMILY ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We, the family of the late Peter John McElvogue, wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who sympathised and supported us in our recent, sad bereavement.

Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team of Carers and Private Sitter who looked after Dad in his last few years – their kindness and compassion to him will never be forgotten. Also grateful thanks to all the healthcare professionals who attended to Dad’s health issues with such dedication, to the Enable Care Sitters, Ardmore Medical Practice and MediCare Pharmacy for their care and support.

A special word of thanks to Killeeshil-Galbally First Responders and Paramedics who attended Dad on the morning of his passing.

We sincerely thank all those who attended the wake and funeral, our neighbours, friends and extended family members, Carol and Dolores who helped out during the wake, to those who sat up at night, helped with car parking, to everyone who sent Mass and Sympathy Cards, to those people and local businesses who brought or sent food and gifts, sent letters, emails or telephone messages, social media messages and floral tributes. Also, thanks to all who have offered their condolences since Dad’s funeral, visited the home house and for the gifts of flowers, etc – it is very much appreciated by the entire family.

Thanks also to KC Marquees, to the grave diggers for preparing Dad’s grave and Galbally Community Centre for the use of their equipment.

We wish to express our gratitude to Father Breslin who provided spiritual support and pastoral care through home visits to Dad – we will be forever grateful. Thanks to the priests who called to visit him, enquired after his health, said masses for him and attended his wake, this meant so much to all of us.

Special appreciation to Father McAleer, for his daily visits and guidance throughout the wake and funeral and sincere thanks for the beautiful Requiem Mass and the fitting, personal tribute paid to Dad. His words were of great comfort to our family and friends.

Sincere thanks also to Caoimhe Loughran and Plunkett McGartland for the beautiful singing and music at the funeral mass. Thanks also to the readers, gift bearers, Eucharistic Ministers, Sacristan and to all who joined us via webcam on the day of Dad’s funeral.

Special thanks to Paudge Quinn, Funeral Director, and his assistant, who took care of all the funeral arrangements in such a dignified, caring and professional manner and for the support given to all the family. Thanks also to Quinn’s Corner and staff for the beautiful meal following the funeral.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually who have been so supportive since Dad’s passing, we trust that our acknowledgement will express our sincere appreciation and everlasting gratitude to all of you.

Dad’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 2nd August at 7:30pm in St John the Baptist Church, Galbally. The Mass will be available via webcam.

Our Lady of Knock, Pray for Him.
