We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Gerard “Fudge” McGonigle, suddenly but peacefully at Newcastle Freeman Hospital surrounded by his loving family on 25th August 2024, may he rest in peace. Late of 24 Caoran Dubh, Dungiven, Co Derry.

Beloved husband of Jacqueline and loving father of Eoin (Paula) and Lauren. Dear son the late Mattie and Willie (205 Finvola Park) R.I.P and much loved brother of Mary K (Martin) and Jacqueline (Willie John). Cherished uncle of Adele (Simon) and Caolan. Deeply regretted by the entire family. St Padre Pio have mercy on his soul.

You are welcome to pay your respects at McLaughlin’s Funeral Home (414a Ballyquin Road, BT47 4NQ) today – Friday from 5pm to 8pm. Leaving the funeral home at 8pm to repose at his late home. You are welcome to call at the family home Saturday (31st) and Sunday (1st) from 11am to 11pm.

Funeral on Monday 2nd September leaving his late home at 08.45am for 10am Requiem Mass in Saint Patrick’s Church, Dungiven. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Link https://mcn.live/

Funeral cortège will travel The Hass Road, stopping at Cumann Iománaíochta Chaoimhin Uí Loingsigh, then onto Curragh Road pausing at Finvola Park.
