McKEEFRY Father Brendan (Sacramento, California & formerly Tamneyrankin, Craigavole, Co. Derry). Fr Brendan entered eternal life on 22nd June 2026, following 59 years of faithful priestly ministry in the Dioceses of Leeds and Sacramento, California.

Father McKeefry was preceded in death by his parents, Michael McKeefry and Mary Catherine (née McKenna), brothers Patrick Joseph (PJ), Michael, and sister, Gertrude Ward. He is survived by brothers John and Peter, and his sister, Mary Kneeland, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Sacramento on Wednesday 1st July 2026 and can be livestreamed at 19:00 (GMT) on the link below. https://vimeo.com/event/6025610

Fr Brendan’s remains will be received at St. Mary’s Church, Craigavole on Thursday 9th July 2026 at 7:30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday 10th July 2026 at 11am. (Mass will be live streamed https://www.devlinmedia.tv/). Interment afterwards in Church of St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Granaghan.

Please pray for the eternal repose of Father McKeefry’s soul, for the consolation of his siblings, brother priests, extended family, friends and all who mourn his passing. In thanksgiving for his many years of faithful priestly ministry, may Christ, the Eternal High Priest whom he served so faithfully, welcome His good and faithful servant into the joy of His heavenly kingdom.
