Date of Death: Friday 8th October 2021

The son, daughter, sister, brother and entire family circle of the late Sean McKernan would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us during our recent bereavement.

Heartfelt thanks to the special friends and the extended family circle who called, visited and helped care for Sean during this past year. We are sincerely grateful for your love and support then and also in preparing the house and garden for the wake and funeral. And special thanks to all those, especially Genie Sweeney, who generously provided food for the family.

We are indebted to those who supported us, sent Mass Cards, Sympathy Cards, Letters, and who expressed Condolences via telephone or social media. We took great comfort on the day of Sean’s funeral from seeing how many lined the roadside for his final journey, those who joined us at the chapel & graveside and those who viewed the funeral online.

A very special thank you to Sean’s good friends, Billy Lyle and Gerard O’Kane who led the funeral procession on their Motorbikes, in memory of his love for the bikes & races throughout the years.

The family would like to thank the entire team of Doctors, Nurses and clerical staff at Loy Medical Centre for their continued care and compassion towards Sean over the years and certainly in the later stages of illness.
Special thanks to the District / Community Nurses and the Hospital Diversion Team who treated Sean with such care and compassion and to the Teams of Carers from the Health Trust who took such good care of him in his final months. Also, to Niall, Henry, Winnie and all the staff at Falls Pharmacy for their continued kindness & support.

We offer our sincere gratitude to the priests of the parish, in particular, Fr. Boyle for his spiritual support and guidance, and for celebrating a beautiful requiem Mass. A special word of thanks to the Church Sacristan, the readers and to Dominique Mullin for the beautiful music. And also thanks to the sign language interpreter Donna McGlinchey.

We would sincerely like to thank Joanna and all the staff at Niall A Loughran Funeral Directors for their caring, efficient, dignified and professional manner in which they carried out all the funeral arrangements during this difficult time.

Since it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a heartfelt and sincere expression of our gratitude and appreciation.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.

Sean’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 7th November at 12.00 Noon in Holy Trinity Church, Cookstown.
