Dear Ann McNay, my condolences on Michael's death. I was a friend of his at university, Killen McNeill from Kilrea. We shared digs at Magee College and later in Portstewart. When he was on his year abroad in Toulouse I was in Erlangen, Germany, where he visited me in his Mini. He has great taste in music and I had a record player in those days. He introduced me to Van Morrison, Neil Young, Roy Harper, Dori Previn and lots more. In fact, I still have some LPs I bought off him when he was low on funds in 1972 or thereabouts. We were close in those days and I regret not having got in touch with him since. I moved to Germany after graduation in 1975 and have lived there since. I was planning a trip home to Ireland and trying to get in touch with old friends when I found Michael's death notice. On the photo from graduation day I'm uploading here I'm the fellow on the right.
