Date of Death: Monday 17th July 2023

The wife, daughters, granddaughters, brothers, sister, son-in-law and entire family circle of the late Francis Mc Sorley wish to express their sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us on our recent sad bereavement. Thanks to all those who attended the wake and funeral, those who lined the funeral route and provided a guard of honour at the Church. Many thanks to those who telephoned, sent messages on social media, gave Mass cards, sympathy cards and floral tributes. We are thankful for all the support from All Saint’s P.S, Holy Family P.S, Sacred Heart College and St. Conor’s P.S. at this difficult time.

Heartfelt thanks to our family, friends and neighbours who helped us in many ways throughout the wake and funeral. Your support and kindness meant so much to us. Special thanks to all the medical staff, particularly the doctors and nurses who were so good to Francis throughout his journey in this life. Sincere thanks to Fr. Mark Monaghan who gave us comfort in the hospital after Francis’ passing.

Heartfelt thanks to Fr. Joe Gormley for his spiritual support to Francis and all the family over the years and for celebrating such a special Requiem Mass. Sincere thanks to Fr. Mark Monaghan and Fr. Danny Monaghan for concelebrating the Mass. We will forever be grateful for your kindness. Thanks to Francis’ brother-in-law Jim for preparing the Church so well, the readers, those who brought up the gifts and to Louise and Marie for their beautiful singing and music.

Grateful thanks to the undertaker, Fergal Farley for the professional and dignified manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. Thanks to Damien for recording Francis’ Funeral Mass. Many thanks to Ciaran and Charlie for respectfully preparing Francis’ final resting place and to Sarah for the beautiful flowers. Thanks to Fergal and staff for the refreshments after the funeral at Drumragh Sarsfields GAC.

We hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Francis’ Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Drumragh on Thursday 24th August at 7.30pm.
