Funeral/Service of thanksgiving Details
I was lucky enough to be taught by Miss Milliken in 1990/91/92. I have so many fond memories of being in her class. The jingle of her bracelets as she wrote on the board or conducted the choir, her stories of her ski trips to Switzerland (she always brought the entire class a little piece of Swiss chocolate back), her encouraging words on the netball pitch and the joy on her face when she saw us making progress counting in French. She simply stands out in my memory as such a positive and influential person. I can still hear her voice reading Stig of The Dump to the class and feeling blissfully happy in that moment, utterly transfixed on her words. She had the ability to grab the attention of the class and hold it no matter what she was teaching us. Even years after being in her class it was a joy and a privilege to bump into her in the north coast. She would ask about family members by name always had kind words of encouragement. Her warmth and passion for teaching inspired so many people. I hope she knew the impact she had and how much she was appreciated. Pamela (McIlreavy) Orr
