We the family of the late Cis Monaghan, her daughters Gabrielle & Roisin, sons-in-law James & Cathal, grandsons James, Ciaran, Conor & Tiarnan would like to thank Fr Charlie Byrne for his pastoral care of Cis before and during her short illness and for conducting her beautiful requiem Mass.
We are truly grateful to the extended family, close friends and neighbours who offered their support and help throughout the wake and funeral. Our sincerest thanks to all who provided food and refreshments, called at the house, sent Mass/Sympathy cards, left messages via social media and those who attended the funeral, your presence with us at this time was very much appreciated.
Thanks to the organist Eileen Mooney and soloist Ellen Kelly for the beautiful music and signing during the service.
A sincere thank you to members of Branch John O’Neill I.N.F for their support and use of their hall and Diamonds Restaurant for the lovely meal provided after the Mass.
Thanks also to the firefighters from Rathriland Fire Station for the guard of honour, your attendance was much appreciated.
A special thanks to the staff of Rathfriland Manor especially all those in the McCann suite for their care of Cis from August 23, and to the staff of Southern Trust Domiciliary Care team and her good friend and neighbour Margaret McClimond who looked after her at home before her illness.
Finally sincere thanks to Peter McGinn & Sons Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which they conducted the funeral arrangements, especially Sean and Colm for their care, support and kindness throughout the wake it was very much appreciated.. Thanks also to the staff of Digney’s Funeral Home.
Thanks to everyone who made a donation to Rathfriland Manor in lieu of flowers.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere gratitude.

Cis’s months mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 3rd March at 10am in St Mary’s Church Rathfriland.

MONAGHAN (nee McArdle) Cis – (Rathfriland)- 4th February 2024, Bridget (Cis). Late of 38 Mourne View Park. Peacefully at Rathfriland Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Seamus, much loved mother of Gabrielle and Roísín, caring mother-in-law of James Devlin and Cathal McAnarney, devoted nanny of James, Ciarán, Conor and Tiarán, dear great-grand nanny of Dáithí and Dáire and special sister of Vera, Arthur and the late Dolores, Desmond, Gabriel and recently deceased Pauline.

Cis’s remains will repose at her daughter’s residence, 26 Lower Castlevennon Road, Katesbridge BT32 5QN on Monday and Tuesday from 12.00noon until 9.00pm. Removal on Wednesday 7th February at 10.00am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Rathfriland. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
