It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadette (Bernie) Nelis née McConnellogue, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 17th July 2025. Late of 51 The Branch and formerly of 10 Fulton Place. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of the late Billy. Cherished mother of Liam, Charlotte (Gormley), Margaret (Crabtree), Bernadette, Declan, Fidelma (Heaney), Karen (McCaul) and the late Danny. A much loved granny and great-granny to all of her loving grandchildren. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Bernie’s remains will be reposing at her late family home, 51 The Branch from 5:30pm this afternoon, Thursday 17th July. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday 19th July at 9:20am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
