Date of Death: Friday 27th September 2024

The family of the late Gerard Norney would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us during this incredibly difficult time following Gerard’s sudden passing.
To our family, friends and neighbours, thank you for standing by us, offering your love and sympathies, and helping us through this challenging period. We are especially grateful to Rebecca, Sinead, and Amy, for their help during the wake. A heartfelt thank you to Collette for keeping everyone supplied with tea and coffee, and to Sinead for all her assistance. Our sincere thanks to Matty Sloan, Tracey Burns, Paula Walsh and to everyone who brought food, visited the house, sent cards and messages, and attended Gerard’s funeral. Special appreciation to Ronnie Magean for providing the after-funeral refreshments at RGU. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Gerard’s friends at WAVE for their unwavering support during this time.
We are especially thankful to those who assisted Gerard in his final moments. Dr. Eimear Haughey, we cannot thank you enough for your efforts at the scene. Alexandra, thank you for immediately calling 999, and to both you and your husband for assisting with CPR and sitting with Gerard. Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the other passersby who helped, as well as the ambulance staff.
We are grateful to Dr. Anna McDonald, Dr. Catrina Rice, Sister Nurse-in-Charge Lisa Amos, and all the staff at Ulster Hospital for everything they did to help Gerard and for the care and compassion they showed our family.
Special thanks go to Ciaran Fitzpatrick and all at Seamus Fitzsimons Funeral Directors for their professional and thoughtful support throughout the funeral arrangements. Their kindness, and even a few lighthearted moments, helped us find some comfort in the midst of our grief.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Canon Murray for celebrating a beautiful Mass and to Bernie and Marty Campbell for the lovely music at the chapel.
Thank you again to everyone who has shown us such love and support. It has meant the world to us. It is impossible to thank everyone who shared wonderful moments in life with Gerard and were there to remember him in passing, we thank you all.
