Date of Death: Friday 2nd February 2024

The family of the late Sorcha O’Kane, R.I.P wish to express their sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with them in their recent bereavement. A special thanks to Fr. Brennan P.P. for his spiritual support and guidance, and for celebrating the requiem Mass, assisted by Fr. Albert McNally. Thanks to Sorcha’s uncle Liam, aunt Leona and cousin Aisling for the beautiful music, Wishy Drain who prepared the grave and the Sacristans for preparing the church.

We are grateful to the kind relatives, Sorcha’s dear friends, her neighbours and members of the wider community for their support and help during this difficult time. Thanks to those who brought food to the wake, messaged, sent cards and donations and who congregated along the route to the church and attended the funeral. We are truly grateful. Thanks to Fionnuala McGuckian for providing the refreshments after the funeral.
Many health professionals and carers supported Sorcha throughout her life and in her final days. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Royal Victoria Hospital, especially the staff of the Regional Intensive Care Unit. Thanks is also due to Sorcha’s consultants from the Royal Victoria, Mater and Belfast City Hospitals. We are grateful to the doctors, nurses and receptionists at Dalriada Family Practice, Grainne Mc Shane and Caroline Kane for their kindness and compassion, and the staff of Castle Pharmacy for their care and attention throughout the years. A very special thanks is due to the carers from Platinum for their very loving care of Sorcha.
Finally, a special word of thanks to D.J.M. Robinson and staff for the professional and dignified manner in which they conducted the funeral arrangements and for the support they provided to us.

The Holy Sacrifice of the mass will be offered for the intentions of all. The Month’s Mind Mass for Sorcha will be celebrated on Saturday 2nd of March at 6pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Dunloy.
