A message from the Rafferty Family Aughnagar – Rafferty Orla, RIP 9 August 2020
Orla’s father, mother, brothers and family would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to the many family and friends for their kindness and support during our recent bereavement.
Thanks to everyone who sent Mass cards, floral tributes, text messages, emails, telephone calls and heartfelt letters of condolence all of which were a great comfort to us.
To all relatives, friends and kind neighbours, local shops and businesses who called to the house, brought and sent food. To Galbally Community Centre for the use of their equipment. To all those who helped in the house throughout Orla’s sickness and at the wake and the funeral. We thank you all sincerely. We would like to thank all those who lined the route to the chapel to pay their respects and to those who travelled long distances. Also to those that could not attend but whose thoughts were with us.
A special word of thanks to Dr Cormac Mc Kay, and all his staff of Ardmore Health Centre, Pomeroy and Dungannon.
To Orla’s Learning Disability Team for all their help and support throughout Orla’s life.
To The Critical Care Team for the care given to Orla during her short illness. Also the district nurses who cared for Orla at this time. To Shane O’Neills chemist for all their support over the years.
To Maureen, Orla’s carer, who cared for Orla like she was a child off her own, we thank you. And also to all those carers and nurses over the years.
A special word of thanks to Fr Pat Hannigan, who regularly attended Orla at home, for all his support during Orla’s short illness and for his very special and personal requiem mass. Also a word of thanks to Stephen Wilson, a student Priest who helped at Orla’s funeral. A word of thanks to Fr Paddy Mc Guckin and Fr Leo Trainor for all their help and support over the years.
To Angela Morgan, Carol Quinn, Marty Pollock and all the singers and musicians for the beautiful singing and music during funeral mass.
To all those who helped steward and parking throughout the wake.
To Barrackhill quarries for the use of their drone, Cathal O’Neill for streaming mass. This was greatly appreciated to facilitate family and friends near and far.
A special word of thanks to the gravediggers who prepared Orla’s final resting place.
Sincere thanks to Massie and Kate McAleer Funeral Directors for the caring, attentive and dignified manner in which they conducted the funeral and arrangements.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our appreciation.
Orla’s months mind mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Church Aughnagar on Friday 18 September 2020 at 7.30 pm.
