Date of Death: Wednesday 24th August 2022

Mrs Rose Sheerin and the children and family of Danny Sheerin, would like to express our profound and heartfelt gratitude to all those who sympathised with us at the loss of our beloved husband, daddy, grandad, great grandad, brother and friend.

Our sincere thanks to our extended family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and local businesses, who attended the wake, provided food, supported us in prayer, sent Mass Cards and condolences and floral tributes. To those who helped at home, we are deeply grateful for your kindness and support.

Particularly, we pay tribute and thanks to the Doctors, nurses, carers and medical staff, from Altnagelvin Hospital, Dr Foy and his team at Quayside Medical Center, Western Health and Social Care Carers, and especially all the staff at the Foyle Hospice for their compassionate and exceptional care in ensuring Danny’s dignity and comfort during his brief illness and final days.

We sincerely thank Fr. Daniel of St Mary’s Parish Creggan for his compassion, kindness and thoughtfulness throughout, and for the beautiful and meaningful Funeral Mass; with particular thanks to Anne-Marie and the organist who added such beauty and joy to the service. Our love and very special thanks to Dana…Mrs Rosemary Scallon, who attended Danny’s funeral mass and sang so beautifully, we as a family were truly moved by your wonderful gesture to your cousin Danny. Our sincere thanks to the Mayor of Derry City and the Waterside Half Marathon Committee who have acknowledged Danny’s participation and contribution to sport over many years; in posthumously presenting him with a 2022 Half Marathon Medal and creating the Annual Sporting Award in Danny’s honour. For these and more we are eternally grateful.

Finally, to the team at Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors for your sensitivity and diligence to all of us and for the care and compassion you showed in preparing Danny for his final journey.

Danny’s Months Mind Mass will be held at St Mary’s Church Creggan on Saturday evening the 24/09/22 at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome. The family will participate in the Foyle Hospice walk on the 25/09/22 in honour of Danny and all donations will be presented to the Foyle Hospice.

We remember you all in our prayers and at the Altar.

Saint Padre Pio please pray for him, to the Sacred hearts of Jesus and Mary, please keep him in your love and protection.
