Patrick (Packie)  SLANE

Date of Death: Friday 3rd January 2025 Town: Carrickmore
Date of Death: Friday 3rd January 2025

We the family of the late Packie Slane (R.I.P), Granagh, Carrickmore, would like to express our deep appreciation and sincere thanks to all our family, friends and neighbours who sympathised and supported us during our recent bereavement.
Packie was a dear husband, father, father in law, Granda, Great-Granda, brother, uncle and friend to many.
We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects by calling at the wake and funeral.
We are deeply grateful to Fr. McAnenly and Fr. Fox, who celebrated Daddy’s funeral Mass, and to Fr. Lagan and Fr. Canny, for their spiritual support at the hospital. In addition, thank you to Colette Slane, Sacristan, who prepared the Chapel so beautifully for Daddy.
Our heartfelt thanks to John Donaghy, Funeral Director, for his professionalism and care during this very difficult time.
A special word of thanks to the nurses, doctors and palliative care team on Ward 32, and to Daddy’s carers who went over and beyond to care for Daddy in his last few months at home. We will never forget you.
We are grateful to Molly McKeever, Damien Cullen, and the McKee family for the beautiful music during Mass and at the graveside.
Thanks also to Loch Mhic Ruairi GFC for the use of their club facilities, for their help with traffic, and for providing a guard of honour along with pupils and staff from St. Colmcille’s Primary School. We appreciate that touching gesture.
Thanks to the readers, those who said bidding prayers, Eucharistic Ministers, altar servers and gift bearers who helped celebrate Daddy’s funeral mass. Thank you to Farley’s for providing funeral refreshments and to Mickey McCartan, Paddy Hughes and Jackie Ward for the pizza and refreshments which were very welcome.
A special word of thanks to Ciaran Conroy for preparing Daddy’s final resting place with great care.
To all our friends and family who offered support and assistance at the wake and funeral, from traffic management to the beautiful refreshments, we are forever grateful.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as an expression of our deepest gratitude.
Packie’s Month’s Mind Mass will be held on Friday, 7th February, at 7.30pm in St. Colmcille’s Church, Carrickmore.
