We the Family of the late Joey Sloan, wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement, especially those who sent Mass offerings, cards, letters of sympathy, floral tributes, called at our home and attended the Funeral. Thanks to Rev. Father Krzysztof for the celebration of the Requiem Mass and graveside prayers and also Linda Galwley for the beautiful singing and music. Special thanks to the First Responders and the Cardiac Team and also A&E Daisy Hill Hospital. Huge thanks to our neighbours Paul and Tommy who initially attended Joey. Special mention to the treatment room Nurses and Staff at Summerhill Surgery, Warrenpoint, especially Dr. Bingham for his care and attention to Joey over the years.

We wish to thank Cathal McAnulty and Staff for the kind and professional manner in which they carried out the Funeral arrangements, and also thanks to the gravediggers. We are truly grateful to Walsh’s Pharmacy, Warrenpoint, for their care and understanding over the years. Special mention to Kieran Fegan and Staff for their kindness to Joey over recent years. Thanks to Diamonds Restaurant for the food after the Funeral and thanks also to Warrenpoint GAA Club, Conrad and Aine for use of the hall after the Funeral. Thanks also to those who kindly donated to The Encephalitis Society.

The Family particularly wish to commend the many people who helped so willingly around the Family home. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown to us at this sad time.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.

Joey’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 17th October at 11.30am in St. Peter’s Church, Warrenpoint.

Joey has not left us
He is with us everyday
Speak to him as you always did
And he will listen
In his quiet, unassuming way.

SLOAN Joey died on 17th September 2021, peacefully at hospital. Late of 61 Clermont Gardens, Warrenpoint.

Dearly loved husband of Kathleen and loving father of Claire, Richard, Frances and James. Father-in-law of Paul, Kevin, Susan and Karolina, loving grandfather of Tiarnán, Grace and Éabha, and dear brother of Michael, Anne, Mardy, Lizzie, Sheila and the late Packy, Gerry, Brendan and Martin. May his soul rest in peace.

Joey’s remains will leave his home on Tuesday at 9.45am arriving at St. Peter’s Church, Warrenpoint for 10.30am Requiem Mass, followed by interment in Warrenpoint Municipal Cemetery. In line with current restrictions, house strictly private and numbers at the Mass are limited.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife, sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother, sisters and entire family circle.
