Pat Barrett passed away peacefully on 28th September 2022. A widely respected and dearly beloved family man and much loved husband of Nuala, father of Grainne, Sheena, Paul, Ryan and Patrick, father in law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend.

We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.

We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who called to the family home, telephoned, sent mass or sympathy cards, flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media. To everyone who brought food and helped at the wake. To all the local businesses for their generosity in supplying food to the family throughout the wake.

Thanks to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Mass or via the webcam.

Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and kind neighbours who helped in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Father Brian O’Kane for his spiritual support and the comforting Requiem Mass and to Canon John McKenna for assisting in the Requiem Mass. We also thank Rev Eugene Hasson PP and Rev Peter O’Kane CC for their support during the wake.

We convey our appreciation also to everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially to Jim Mc Gread and our musicians James Mc Shane, Marie Campbell and Sara Mc Grenaghan who provided the beautiful music and Sheenagh for the lovely flowers.

Sincere thank you to Mc Atee Funeral Directors for their outstanding highly professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.

Our thanks to Denamona Carriage Hire for providing the horse drawn hearse and to Charlie Quinn who prepared Pat’s resting place, Drumragh Sarsfields GAC for the use of their facility and to Farley’s Bar and Restaurant for the refreshments provided after the funeral.

We would like to thank Pat’s carers who cared for him at home, those in Hillview Nursing Home and the staff of South West Acute Hospital for their outstanding care and support during Pat’s illness.

As it is impossible to thank everyone, please accept this acknowledgment as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Pat is ever loved and sadly missed.

Pat’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Omagh on Friday 28th October 2022 at 7.30pm. Following the Mass everyone is welcome to join us in St Joseph’s Hall for refreshments.

BARRETT Patrick (Pat), died peacefully at the South West Acute Hospital on Wednesday 28th September 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Late of 146 Clanabogan Road, Omagh, BT78 1SN.

Beloved husband of Nuala. Treasured father of Grainne Murphy (Brian), Sheena Hughes (Martin), Paul (Cherith), Ryan (Una), Patrick (Catherine) and the late Elaine. Devoted and loving grandfather to his 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Cherished brother of Peter, Joe, Maura McLaughlin, Babs, Sally McGrenaghan, Anthony and the late Jim.

Pat will be reposing in his late residence from 7.30pm on Wednesday 28th September. For anyone attending the wake there will be a one way system via Price’s shop onto the Old Clanabogan Road.

Pat will leave his late residence at 10.00am on Friday 30th September for 11am requiem mass in St Mary’s Church, Drumragh followed by his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

For those who wish to show a presence along the funeral route Pat will travel from the Clanabogan Road, and along the Creevanagh Road and Fireagh Road to arrive at St Mary’s Church at 10.50am.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife, daughters, sons, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, in laws, nephews, nieces and entire family circle. Our Lady pray for him.
