We, the family of the late Barry Bowstead would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all those who supported us during our recent bereavement. Thank you to all those who called at the wake house, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, for the lovely flowers and floral tributes and all who attended the funeral we have been truly overwhelmed.
A special word of gratitude is extended to all our close friends and family, for your help, kindness and support preparing everything before and during the wake we are forever grateful.
We wish to thank all the Doctors and reception staff at Quayside Medical Practice, especially Dr Foy for everything you did for Barry over the years especially the last year we are extremely grateful.
We would also like to offer our thanks to Joy and all the nurses, carers and staff at Unit 5 Owen-mor Nursing home Culmore Road Derry for all you did for Barry, we had such peace of mind as a family to know the love and care he was receiving during his time at the unit, we are forever thankful.
We thank the staff of the Acute care team who treated Barry the last few months at Owen-mor especially the last few weeks of his life, it was very much appreciated, you are all amazing.
Thank you so much to Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral directors for the dignified way they carried out all the funeral arrangements.
To Father Daniel McFaul, St Mary’s Chapel, Creggan, thank you so, so, much for visiting and all the many blessings you gave Barry, also the lovely requiem mass and kind words you spoke about Barry it was so touching, to Isobel and Erin for the most beautiful music it was so lovely. Also to Kay & Mickey Carlin for the most amazing Floral spray for Dad’s coffin we thank you so much.
For the owners and staff at Iona House, Spencer Road thank you so much for the lovely food and the lovely send off for Daddy we are so thankful.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our appreciation and gratitude.

Barry’s Month’s Mind mass will be celebrated on Saturday 2nd March 2024 at 6.30pm in St Mary’s Chapel, Creggan.

BOWSTEAD Barry, 3rd. February 2024, peacefully at Owen Mor, Care Home, BARRY, (late of 101 Marlborough Road, formerly of Middlesborough, England)

Beloved husband of Sylvia, loving father of Margaret and Kevin, cherished brother of Derek. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Barry will be reposing at his daughter Margaret’s home 95 Marlborough Road, on Saturday 3rd. February from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Funeral leaving 95 Marlborough Road on Monday 5th. February at 11:20 a.m. to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. St. Pio intercede for him.
