Michael (Mickey) BRENNAN

Date of Death: Saturday 30th December 2023 Town: Gulladuff
Date of Death: Saturday 30th December 2023

We the family of the late Michael Brennan would like to express our deep appreciation to all those who sympathised and supported us, through our recent bereavement.

Sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours, family and extended family for their kindness and support.

Thanks to all who sent Mass cards, Sympathy cards, telephoned, called in to the house and brought food/helped during the wake or shared messages/tributes of Daddy on all social media platforms and those who lined the route of his funeral cortege. Thank you to Termoneeny Cycling Club for the guard of honour outside the Chapel, his friends who never forgot about him. A special word of thanks to the McMullan Family who have been with us every step of the way.

We also thank all those who attended the Requiem Mass, those outside the chapel and those who watched the Mass via webcam and thank you to Patrick for recording the mass for us and anyone that missed it. Everyone’s presence meant a lot to the family. Thank you to Una Magill for the beautiful singing and Kevin for the instrumental music. To all the family and friends for their participation with Readings, Prayers of the Faithful, carrying of gifts and Reflection. Huge gratitude also to the Church Sacristan, Eucharist Ministers, stewards and gravediggers, who prepared the final resting place for Daddy, as well as those who supplied and erected the marquee and lighting and those who maintained it throughout the wake. Your help is very much appreciated.

The family would like to thank Fr. Eamon Graham for his continued support, guidance and attention throughout the past 4.5years. Also, for the beautiful Requiem Mass which he con-celebrated with Daddy’s friend Fr. Neil Magill, of whom we also are so grateful and how they portrayed Daddy’s journey through life. A special thank you to Fr. Paddy Doherty for participating in the burial.

Thank you to Erin’s Own GAC for the use of the hall and to their volunteers who served the refreshments after the funeral.

We would like to express our gratitude to Maghera Health Centre, the doctors and district nurses for their care and support for Daddy. Especially Dr. Catherine Monaghan, Dr. Grainne Shaw and Dr. David McNeill for the care and attention of Daddy. A special word of thanks to Dr. Aidan O’Neill at Antrim Area Hospital, Dr. Roisin Brennan and the Marie Curie nurses who were of great help and support.

A special thanks to J. A. Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera & Coleraine for their dignified manner in which they conducted Daddy’s funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted by all with our sincere thanks. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.

Michael’s months mind Mass will be held on Friday 26th of January at 7:00 p.m. in St Mary’s Church, Lavey.

Michael was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and father-in-law. He had a strong work ethic and a passion for trying new things and seeing the world. He lived his life in the fast lane and enjoyed the craic…he will be sorely missed.
