Sally DEVINE

Date of Death: Wednesday 20th September 2023 Town: Derry
Date of Death: Wednesday 20th September 2023

The family of the late Sally Devine would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all the kindness, support, and sympathy we received during our recent bereavement. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to everyone who called at the house, sent Mass Cards, sympathy cards, personal messages and floral tributes. It was a great source of comfort to see the number of family, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues who travelled distances to help us through this very difficult time.

A special word of gratitude is extended to Bernadette’s neighbours in Brookhill and to our close friends, for all their help, kindness, and support during the wake. We are truly grateful to our dear friend Martine for the love, care, and attention she always gave Sally. We also acknowledge with thanks, the spiritual support offered by Father Paul Farren, Father Patrick Lagan and Father Shaun Doherty who visited Sally during her illness and to Stephen Orr for his weekly visits.

Thanks also to Father Farren who celebrated the Requiem Mass and to Ann-Marie Hickey for the beautiful singing and to Charlotte Logue, for the music.

We wish to thank Oakleaf Medical Practice, in particular Dr. E Doohan and Dr. J Mc Laughlin, as well as the team of District Nurses who attended to Sally. Thanks, are also due to Niall Smyth of Advanced Care Services and to Shannon and Carmel who provided wonderful friendship and care to Sally. Thanks, are also due to Sheree and the team of carers of Glen Caring and to Holly and Emma of Strabane District Caring, as well as to the team from NW Care who called with Sally every day. We are also extremely grateful to the Marie Curie Carers and Nurses who attended to Sally at night.

Many thanks to the Principal and Staff of Lumen Christi College and St. Mary’s Limavady; to Paul Ellis and the staff of Paul’s Butchers as well as to the Staff of Derry and Strabane District Council, the Old Library Trust and Translink, whose help and support have been greatly appreciated.

A special thanks to everyone who made donations to Marie Curie on Sally’s behalf.

Thanks to Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors for the dignified way they carried out the funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Sally’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 20th October at 7.30pm in St. Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry.
