Rita HASSAN (née O’Kane)
We, the family of the late Rita Hassan of 6 Lackagh Park, Dungiven would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all who expressed condolences and offered kind words of support during our recent bereavement.
We would particularly like to thank all who visited the wake house, brought Mass cards, expressed their sympathy, shared wonderful memories of Rita, and who brought gifts of food in abundance.
We would like to thank especially Rita’s kind and thoughtful neighbours in both Lackagh Park and Pellipar Park, who were so kind and considerate to Rita during her time of illness.
We would like to thank the Community Care team, Dr Knox and Dr Byrne and the team at Feeny and Dungiven Health Centres for their dedicated care to Rita over the past few years.
Sincere thanks to Fr. Seamus Kelly PP and Fr Joseph Varghese for their home visits, and for celebrating the beautiful requiem Mass. Thank you also to the church sacristan and altar servers for their contribution to the mass.
Thanks also to Raymond O’Kane for providing the beautiful singing and music at the funeral, to the grave digger all those who helped in any way in the preparations for Rita’s wake and funeral.
We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to Seamus, Deborah and Eugene at McLaughlin Funeral Directors, Dungiven, for the professional and dignified way in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and looked after the family’s needs through every step of the process.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our deep appreciation.
Rita will be remembered at Dungiven parish Masses this weekend.
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Rita Hassan (née O’Kane) peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on the 15th of February 2024. May she rest in peace. Late of 6 Lackagh Park, Dungiven, Co Derry.
Beloved wife of Brian and loving mother of Sean and the late baby Lisa R.I.P. Daughter of the late Patsy and Kathleen O’Kane Ovil R.I.P and loving sister of Sean, Laura, Sinead, Eileen, Brian, Brendan, Seamus and Mary K. Will be sadly missed by all her nieces, nephews, and extended family circle.
Reposing at her late home. Funeral from her late home on Sunday 18th of February leaving at 12.15pm for 1pm Requiem Mass in St Patricks Church, Dungiven. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Requiem mass can be viewed via the church webcam.
