The family of the late Joy Keenan would like to thank all family friends and neighbours who visited sent flowers flowers cards and messages of condolences and anyone who attended the wake and funeral your support is sincerely appreciated.

A special thanks to the carers from Bryson Care and Strabane District who looked after Joy so well through her long illness we would have been lost without you. Also the doctors and district nurses from City View Medical who attended Joy with care and compassion to the Marie Curie nurses who cared for her in the last weeks of her life.

A special thanks to Fr. Baker for the beautiful and meaningful requiem mass and his spirtual guidance and to Aidan Watkins and Catherine Kelly for the beautiful singing and music.

To Posh Platters for the lovely food after the funeral and to all who brought food to the wake.

We would like to thank funeral directors, Bradley & McLaughlin for the dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral.

Joy’s months mind mass will take place in the Longtower on Sunday the 5th of December at 12noon.

Sacred heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul.

Death Notice

KEENAN (née Doherty), Mary Josephine (Joy) Died on 6th November 2021 (peacefully) at her home, 9 Iona Court.

Beloved wife of the late Daniel (DOT), loving mother of Teresa, John, Margaret, Roseleen, Christine, Daniel, David, Geraldine, Majella, Anne-Marie, Seana and Colm, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother and a dear aunt to all her nephews and nieces. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Funeral leaving her daughter’s home, 7 Orchard Row, at 10.20am tomorrow (Monday) to St Columba’s Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines.
