Date of Death: Friday 3rd September 2021

The family of the late Mary Lagan R.I.P. wish to express our heartfelt thanks for the love and support given to us following the death of a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. We appreciate and thank all those who called at home, telephoned, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, messages, floral tributes, paid tribute on social media, brought gifts, or offered prayers for Mary during her time in hospital. Our sincere gratitude to the staff working in Ward A3 in Antrim Area Hospital for the exceptional medical and nursing care given to Mary during her short illness and to Maghera Medical Centre for their kindness and attention.

We thank Fr. Patrick Doherty, Fr. Kieran O’Doherty, Fr. Seamus O’Neill and Fr. Hugh Lagan for celebrating the Requiem Mass, and to our priest friends for their spiritual support during Mary’s time in hospital. Special thanks to Fr. Patrick Doherty for his timely visit to Antrim Area Hospital and to Fr. Seamus O’Neill for his support at the family home on the morning of the funeral. We also wish to thank Una Magill for the beautiful singing, the Church sacristan, Sally McKeown, for preparing the Church, and the gravediggers who prepared Mary’s resting place.

Thank you to the many relatives, neighbours, friends and wider community who joined us at the funeral home, lined the route of the cortège, formed guards of honour, attended the Church for the Requiem Mass, or joined us via the Church webcam. Seeing so many people support us was a great comfort and we wish to thank all sincerely.

Our appreciation is also extended to McCusker Brothers, Funeral Directors, Magherafelt for the professional, compassionate and dignified way they carried out the funeral arrangements.

We hope this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as it would be impossible to express our appreciation individually. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Mary’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Glen at 7.30pm on Friday 1st October 2021. As attendance will be restricted in line with Covid-19 guidelines.
