Date of Death: Wednesday 19th January 2022 Town: Legamaddy
Date of Death: Wednesday 19th January 2022

We, the family of the late Jimmy Laird wish to offer our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to all those who offered support and sympathy during our recent bereavement. Thanks to all our family, friends and neighbours for their kindness and support. Special thanks to all those who called at his home, sent Mass Cards, sympathy cards, gifts, donated to St. Vincent de Paul charity in lieu of flowers, paid their respects by lining the route from his home and attended the funeral both inside and outside St Patrick’s Chapel, Legamaddy and at Rossglass graveyard.

A special thanks to Fr Peter O’Kane for his spiritual support and attention to “Lord Laird” as he called Daddy in the past 3 years and to Fr Martin Graham who concelebrated the Requiem Mass with Fr O’Kane and for assisting at the graveside. Thanks to Caolan Keaveney for the beautiful singing and to Rosie and Liam Byrne for their lovely duet.

A special thanks to Daddy’s carers, particularly “Kitty” Joan, Joanne, Martina and his grandson Freddy for their loving care and attention to Daddy over the years, to the private carers, too many to name, to Anthony, Michael and Eilish from Trackers Healthcare, to The Green Surgery, Medicare Pharmacy, District Nurses, Colin, Dads driver to Ardview, Cat and her staff in Ardview Day Care, and Ward Sr Nora and her staff in Ward 3a in the Ulster Hospital.

Thanks to Downpatrick Scouts for the dignified Guard of Honour they provided at St Patrick’s Chapel, Legamaddy.
Thank you sincerely to Ciaran and staff of Seamus Fitzsimons Funeral Directors for their professionalism and dignified funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually we trust this acknowledgment will be accepted as an expression of our deepest thanks and appreciation.

Jimmy’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 11th February in St Patrick’s Church, Legamaddy at 7.30pm.
