Canon Patrick MARRON
The family of the late Canon Patrick, wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us, through our recent sad bereavement. Canon Patrick was a widely respected former teacher, Parish Priest and dearly loved Brother, Uncle and Friend.
Thank you to everyone who visited the wake to pay their respects, in both Carrickmacross and Fintona. Our thanks to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, letters, flowers and to those who attended when Canon Patrick was received into St. Lawrence’s Church or who joined us at the Requiem Mass.
Thanks to Father Kevin Connolly for receiving Canon Patrick’s remains into St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross and for the beautiful Psalm Service. A very special word of thanks to Most Reverend Bishop Lawrence Duffy, for his spiritual support and the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to all the clergy who assisted with the Mass and especially Father Sean Mulligan for all his preparatory work. Thanks also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy and to the St. Lawrence’s Primary School Choir and the Parish Community Choir who provided the beautiful uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for their support and the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out, and to the gravedigger Tommy for preparing Canon Patrick’s final resting place. Our thanks to Roisin of Nettles & Petals for the beautiful floral tributes and to the St. Patricks’ Hall ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the burial.
Our sincere thanks to Fintona Pearses’s GAA and to St Lawrence’s Primary School for providing their guards of honour.
And finally, we send our sincere thanks to the staff of St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Ballybay for the kindness shown to Canon Patrick during his time there, we are very grateful for all your help and assistance with Canon Patrick’s care.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Canon Patrick’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Saturday 16th December at 10.00 am, may his generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Our Lady pray for him.
The death has occurred of Canon Patrick Marron formerly of Parnell Street, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan and Donacavey Parish, Fintona, Co Tyrone. Peacefully on Wednesday 15th November 2023, in the tender and dedicated care of the staff of St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Ballybay.
Brother of John (Carrickmacross) and predeceased by his brothers Tom and PJ, sisters Monica, Ann Harte (late Oliver),Margaret Fox (late Eamon), Kathleen and sister-in-law Denise Marron. Uncle to Peter, Alyson, Shauna, David Woodward and Rosanna O’Rielly.
For anyone who wishes to pay their respects, Canon Marron will be reposing in St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross from 6pm on Thursday 16th November. His remains will leave St Joseph’s Church at 8pm and will be received into St. Lawrence’s Church, Fintona at 9.45pm. Canon Marron will be reposing in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona from 1pm, until 9.30pm on Friday 17th November.
His requiem Mass will take place at 12noon on Saturday 18th November, followed by his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Deeply regretted by his loving brother, nephews, nieces and entire family circle.
May the Lord support us all the day long, Till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in his mercy may he give us a safe lodging, and holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen.
