Conor McIVOR

Date of Death: Tuesday 4th April 2023 Town: Toomebridge
Date of Death: Tuesday 4th April 2023

We, Una, Emily and Dáithi, the wife, daughter and son of Conor McIvor, recently deceased; together with Conor’s mother Philomena, and the entire McIvor and McStocker family circles; wish to express our very sincere thanks to all those who have sympathised with us in these days.

Conor was very much loved by his family and many, many friends. A passionate football fan, Conor often cited the famed footballing anthem, “You’ll never walk alone”. It was truly humbling and heartening for us to experience, to live, to feel, the spirit of that song that Conor loved, in the wave of support shown to us since Conor’s passing.

We sincerely thank all our relatives, friends and neighbours, for their many kindnesses at this deeply sad time. We thank all, from near and far, who called to our home, sent Mass Cards, sympathy cards, telephoned, messaged, brought gifts, flowers and food, and who attended the Funeral Mass. Your presence brought us a lot of comfort and is greatly appreciated. Local businesses and community groups showed us terrific generosity and hospitality. We shall not forget it. It was further lovely to receive so many messages of support from the USA, where Conor lived in his earlier years.

Our sincere thanks too, of course, to Canon Paddy McWilliams (PP of Duneane Parish), who celebrated Conor’s Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church Cargin on Easter Sunday; and to Fr. Peter Donnelly (PP of Ballinderry, Conor’s childhood parish), for his pastoral care and guidance during the wake and since.

We owe a special word of gratitude to Conor’s cousin @Margaret-Anne Music and her friend Patrick Slevin, for the immense solace provided by their beautiful music and singing during Mass. To all who participated in the Liturgy; to the Eucharistic Ministers; to Kathleen, the Church Sacristan; to McCoys, the grave diggers: heartfelt thanks to you all.

There are no adequate words to properly thank Enda, Tom and Ronan McCusker of McCusker Bros. Funeral Directors, for their professionalism, empathetic and respectful handling of Conor’s homecoming and funeral arrangements. We will be forever grateful for all their efforts.

It is impossible for us to thank everybody individually, but please all know that we are truly grateful to you all and accept our heartfelt appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Conor’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 7th May at 10:30am in Sacred Heart Church Cargin.

St. Padre Pio, pray for him. May Conor’s soul, and the souls of his father Gerry and his brother Brian, rest in peace. Amen
