Debbie O'DONNELL (née McDonagh)

Date of Death: Thursday 7th October 2021 Town: Castlederg
Date of Death: Thursday 7th October 2021

We the family of the late Debbie O’Donnell (nee McDonagh), husband Gerard, daughter Karen, son Gary, and son in law Declan, wish to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all those who offered their sympathy and support during our recent sad bereavement.

We are most grateful to all our kind neighbours, friends and relatives who assisted at the wake and to all who called at the house, brought food, sent cards, floral tributes and who expressed their condolences via telephone and social media. We have been overwhelmed by your support and kindness.

We took great comfort on the morning of the funeral from the support of everyone, who while respecting social distancing regulations, lined the funeral cortege route from Ederney to Aghyaran, to those who joined us outside our family home and at the Chapel, and to those who viewed Debbie’s funeral Mass online. We are truly thankful.

We would like to express our gratitude and most thanks to everyone who helped in caring for Debbie; the medical team and nursing staff in Altnagelvin Hospital and to the doctors and staff at Castlederg Group Surgery, the District Nursing Team and chemists who were a great support to Debbie over the years.

We offer our deepest appreciation to Fr Paul Fraser, Fr Sean O’Donnell, Fr Pat McHugh and Fr Arkinson for all their spiritual support and guidance while Debbie was in hospital and to Fr Paul Fraser and Fr Pat McHugh for the beautiful tribute to Debbie in celebrating her Requiem Mass. Your carefully considered and meaningful homily were of great comfort to us.

Also a word of thanks to Anne McNamee and Sean Dolan for providing the lovely music and singing which made Debbie’s Mass so special. Thank you also to the grave diggers who prepared Debbie’s resting place with great care and to all who helped us in any way.

We would sincerely like to thank the funeral director Claude McKervey and Patsy for the exceptional, respectful and professional manner in which they carried out all the funeral arrangements. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion in helping us make Debbie’s farewell as special as we could within regulations.

As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a small gesture of our sincere appreciation. The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.

Debbie’s months mind mass will be celebrated on Friday 19th November at 7:30pm in St Patrick’s Church Aghyaran.
