The family of the late Sean O’Kane would like to extend their deepest thanks and appreciation to all those who have sympathized with us in our recent bereavement.

We would like to thank all the medical staff who cared for Sean during his battle with cancer; especially the district nurses at Cityview medical who attended the house daily, and to the Marie Curie nurses (Annie), the Sperrin room, Ward 50 and ICU.
We would like to thank all the staff and pupils of St Joseph’s Boys’ School Derry for their support throughout and their beautiful guard of honor.

We would like to thank all of Sean’s extended family and friends, who called to the house with flowers, cards and words of kindness during this difficult time.
We would like to thank Father Baker and the Long tower Chapel, for the beautiful service and send off they gave to Sean, it was very personal and for that we are grateful.

We would also like to thank McClafferty Funeral Directors, Kieran & Peter for their kind and diligent manner whilst organizing the funeral arrangements.

Sean’s month’s mind mass will be held on Tuesday 1st March in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower mass at 7:30pm, everyone is welcome.

O’KANE Sean died peacefully at his late family home, surrounded by all of his loving family on the 7th of January 2022. Late of 39 Abbots Walk. May he rest in peace.

Beloved son of Briege and Feargal O’Kane. Loving brother of Feargal, Eireann, Ciara and Colleen. Devoted uncle of Shea, Charlie and Emerald. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Sean’s remains are now reposing at his late family home, 28 Tyrconnell Street.
Funeral leaving from there on Monday 10th January at 10:20am for 11:00am requiem mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Please maintain social distancing and adhere to government guidelines at all times.
