The family of the late Alice Rooney RIP wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who sympathised and supported them in their recent sad bereavement.

Thanks to all family, relatives, friends and neighbours who called to the wake house, brought mass cards and gifts of food. A special word of thanks to those who helped out with refreshments and all who helped out in any way. Thanks also to those who left kind messages on social media.
Thanks to all who attended Alice’s funeral. A special word of thanks to Canon McKinley for the lovely requiem mass and for his spiritual guidance. To Anna Moore for the beautiful singing. Also, to the gravediggers for taking care of the grave. ToKilcoo Community Centre for the use of their premises and to the Diamonds Restaurant Warrenpoint and staff for the lovely meal provided after Alice’s funeral.
Thanks to those who sent floral tributes and to those who gave donations in lieu of flowers to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
To the doctors, nurses and staff of Clough Surgery and Pharmacy, the doctors and nurses of Belfast City Hospital Cancer Centre, the doctors and nurses of Daisy Hill Hospital, NI Ambulance Service staff, the District Nursing Team, Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses and Lydian Care team for the excellent care provided to Alice during her illness, especially in her final days.
Our deepest gratitude goes to Stephen Morgan Funeral Directors for the professional and dignified manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our heartfelt thanks.

Alice’s Months Mind mass will be celebrated on Saturday 3rd February, 2024 at 5pm in St Malachy’s Church Castlewellan.

ROONEY (nee Morgan) Alice (Kilcoo) (formerly of Downpatrick) died peacefully at home on January 3, 2024.

Beloved wife of Stephen and much loved mother of Lisa. Cherished nanny of Ryan, Ordhan, Chloe and Lewis and loving sister of Mary, Anne and Patrick.

Alice’s remains will repose at her sister Mary’s residence, 3B Slievenaman Road, Kilcoo from 12noon to 3.00pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm on today Thursday January 4th. Alice’s home at 21 Crockoona Park is Strictly Private please. Alice’s remains will leave on tomorrow Friday January 5, 2024 at 9.15am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St Malachy’s Church, Kilcoo followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
