Date of Death: Thursday 22nd February 2024

The family of the late Gareth Smith would like to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness extended to us following the recent bereavement of our beloved son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.
Thanks to all who sent cards, letters, messages, telephoned or called at the family home, provided food and made donations to Heartbeat and the Heart Trust Fund. Our heartfelt thanks to all the friends, family members and work colleagues who were so touched by Gareth’s sudden passing and to all those who attended the funeral, especially those who travelled from long distances or helped us in any other way.
We are very grateful to John Smith Funeral Directors for the
professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the
funeral arrangements.
Special thanks to Canon Murray for officiating the Requiem Mass, Fr. John O’Laverty for his heartfelt eulogy and to the Ballyphilip Folk
Group for the beautiful music and to those who prepared the grave. Our sincere thanks also to the dedicated health professionals who cared for and supported Gareth over the years, especially everyone at the Green Surgery and the doctors and staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
Finally, we would like to thank the Barn for providing the
refreshments after the funeral.
